We're here to answer all your burning questions about our website, where we sell a range of handmade cold process soaps, whipped soaps, diffusers, magnesium bath soaks, room sprays, bamboo soap dishes, and eco friendly bathroom accessories.

Q: Are your products handmade?

A: All our cold process soaps, whipped soaps, room sprays, fragrance diffusers and bath soaks are made by hand by myself. All our eco-friendly accessories are purchased for resale.

Q: What is cold process soap?

A: Cold process soap is a traditional method of making soap from scratch using oils, lye, and water. This process allows for the preservation of the natural properties of the ingredients, resulting in a gentle and nourishing bar of soap. All our soaps are made without palm oil, are vegan and cruelty free. They are also free of parabens, sulphates and phthalates making them a gentle choice for your skin.

Q: How do you make handmade soap?

At The Little Oasis Bath Co, we make all our soaps using the cold process method. Here's how we do it:

We carefully select premium quality oils, butters, essential oils, and other additives to create the perfect blend for our soap recipe. Sodium hydroxide is mixed with water to create a lye solution which is then mixed with the melted oils when it is at the correct temperature. Any additives like milk, clay, fragrance can be added here. Once the soap batter is poured into the mould, saponification occurs - which is where the lye reacts with the oils to form soap. It is important to note that with a precise and trusted formula, no lye remains in the soap once saponification occurs. After 1-2 days, the soap is cut into bars and placed on a curing rack for a minimum of 4 weeks before sale. The curing process is important, and this is where the soap hardens and produces a mild bar of soap. During this time, soaps are stamped and the edges are beveled. By utilising the cold process method, we are able to create a mild handmade soap that offers a luxurious and indulgent experience for your skin.

Q: How long do handmade soaps last?

A: Handmade soaps should last for approximately 12 months, sometimes more. Depending on how often you use the soap, whether you take short or long showers or 1-2 a day, a bar should last you approximately 4 weeks.

Q: Why doesn't cold process soap dry out my skin like some commercial soaps do?

A: Cold process soap differs from many commercial soaps in several ways that contribute to its gentleness on the skin:

Glycerin Content: Cold process soap retains glycerin, a natural byproduct of the saponification process. Glycerin is a humectant, which means it attracts moisture to the skin, helping to keep it hydrated.

Natural Oils: Our cold process soap often contains nourishing oils like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. These oils contribute to the soap's hydrating properties, helping to prevent dryness and maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier.

No Harsh Chemicals: Commercial soaps often contain harsh detergents and synthetic ingredients that can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. Our cold process soap is made with natural oils and butters and is free from sulphates, parabens, harsh detergents and phthalates that can irritate skin.

Q: Can you tell me more about your fragrance diffusers?

A: Our fragrance diffusers are a wonderful way to infuse your space with delightful scents without a flame. They provide up to 6 months of continuous fragrance, making them perfect for holiday homes and bathrooms. Natural reed sticks slowly release the fragrance into the air, creating a long-lasting and inviting atmosphere in your home or office. We use premium phthalate free fragrance.

Q: What are the benefits of magnesium natural bath soaks?

A: Magnesium bath soaks are known for their therapeutic properties. They can help relax muscles, promote better sleep, and soothe the skin. Our natural bath soaks are made with high-quality magnesium, natural clays and essential oils, all chosen with intentions, to provide you with a truly indulgent bathing experience.

Q: How do you stamp handmade soap?

A: Stamping cold process soap is a popular way to add a personal touch. You may choose to stamp with your logo or something completely different! Firstly you need to choose a stamp which is thick enough with fairly simple so that it produce a clean imprint. Soaps are stamped after about a week of unmoulding. Stamping them too soon or too late will not make a good impression in the soap.

Q: How do you store handmade soap?

A: When you buy handmade cold process soap it is important to store it properly to maintain its quality and prolong its shelf life. Keeping it cool and dry, away from direct sunlight, heat sources and humidity. Excessive heat and moisture can cause the soap to soften, sweat or lose its scent.

Q: What is whipped soap?

A: Whipped soap is a delightful and fluffy alternative to traditional bar soap or body wash. It offers a luxurious and creamy texture that's perfect for gentle cleansing and hydrating. It's also suitable for sensitive skin.

Q: How do you make whipped soap?

A: Here at The Little Oasis Bath Co, we make our light and fluffy whipped soap base from scratch! Once we make the base, we add in the luxurious coconut oil, natural clays for colour and phthalate free fragrances or essential oils and whip it until its nice and fluffy.

Q: Do you offer bamboo soap dishes and natural exfoliating accessories?

A: Yes, we believe that a complete bathing experience involves more than just the soap itself. We offer bamboo soap dishes that not only look beautiful but also help prolong the life of your soap. Additionally, our natural exfoliating accessories, such as loofahs, mitts, pumice stones and sisal soap bags, are perfect for gently exfoliating and rejuvenating your skin.

Q: Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

A: We understand the importance of catering to different skin types. While our products are generally gentle and suitable for most skin types, we recommend checking the ingredient list for any potential allergens or consulting with a dermatologist if you have specific concerns.
